Communication from the Attorney General dated January 9, 1864. Containing an estimate of an additional sum required by the Department of Justice. Richmond. The Confederate Government by this point in the war was still trying to function as a functioning bureaucracy. Message from Attorney General George Davis asks for additional money for the Department of Justice court expenses and salaries. Captured handstamped: "Rebel Archives".
