The Southern Illustrated News, Richmond, Virginia from September 12, 1863. Front page consists of biographical sketch and illustration of General John H. Winder. Winder was put in charge of POW's in Richmond. Also, he was placed in charge of the defenses of the defenses at Richmond. Later was assigned to serve at Andersonville Prison Camp. Another article entitled: "A Blockade Correspondence". On back page is a cartoon depicting a black man chasing a dog with a net below Libby Prison in Richmond. Also there is a book entitled "the Life of Stonewall Jackson".
