Tintype of Civil War soldier with a cardstock oval frame. The tintype is taped to the backside of card stock. Soldier is standing at attention and is photographed from the waist up. Has a rifle with a bayonet at his right side and is wearing a greatcoat. Soldier is not ID'd and there is no maker's mark.

Coal Scuttle

Men shoveled coal from the Cairo coal room into this coal scuttle to use in the smaller pot-bellied stoves.

Confederate Flag

Small Confederate flag presented to a large cannon called "Widow Blakely.” Flag bears 11 stars on field, should be 13 but 2 have been torn out leaving a hole in the blue field. A letter accompanied the small Confederate flag. The letter was written by D. R. McCutchen to his wife telling her to keep the flag for him until he returns from the war.
