Bench. School Bench. From a school for African-American students in Allenhurst on farm of Andrew Jackson, a former slave. 3 person (approx.) wide plank bench. Yellow pine, shaped & sawn sides with armrest, single wide plank seat, 2 thinner planks nailed to back. Seat slotted into sides with a dado as well as nailed. Has been painted in the past; currently has a spotty layer of gray over most of the surface.
