Sweetgrass basket with lid. The basket is tall with rim (4cm) that turns out at the top. A domed round lid fits into the top rim. The top of the lid has a small palmetto circle and a handle made from a dried plant seed wrapped in black embroidery thread. The bottom of the basket has a palmetto circle in the middle of it as well. The sweetgrass bundles are all bound with cotton embroidery thread in a chevron pattern. Each color is used for two rows of bundles and then changed. The embroidery thread colors include: three shades of blue, orange, yellow, purple, green, pink, red and brown. The thread on the flat bottom of the basket is all green.
