Regular British infantry usually received a .75 caliber "Brown Bess" musket like this one.
Assembled "lock, stock and barrel" in the Tower of London and engraved "71 REGt 1t B" on the barrel, this musket waas probably used in the southern campaigns during the later years of the war.
The accompanying buff leather sling is a piece that rarely survives.
