Content Description: 

Cartridge box slightly curved to fit wearer's waist with three leather belt loops on back. Pine insert is shaped to fit box and is drilled to accomodate twenty-four paper cartridges. It is secured into leather box with fifteen decorative japanned round-head tacks on the front and thirteen common tacks on the back. There is a steel catch on the underside of the flap which seats in a heart-shaped medallion. Half of a decorative brass rosette survives on the flap.
