Capt. John Ridgely was especially interested in Hampton’s prize-winning herd of Jersey dairy cattle. In this booklet, he meticulously recorded the names, birth dates, heritage, and features of each cow. His wife, Helen West Stewart Ridgely, later annotated the entries with “dead” or “sold” as appropriate.
