Content Description: 

Shell, Artillery. Fragment (1/3) of front end of exploded artillery shell. Found April 12, 1955, behind Confederate lines at Olustee by John Maxfield while using mine detector. 9.5 x 6 x 2.5 cm. Very heavily rusted. Note: Fragment appears to be from a 3" diameter Federal Hotchkiss Civil War artillery shell (Compare to Hotchkiss shell 92754).
