Chest, Camp. Used by Confederate Gen. W. W. Loring during Civil War. Rectangular wood chest made of pine. Iron handles attached to each side. Prominent dovetailed joints on each corner. Sides of the lid reinforced with nails. Wood appears to have been finished only in a brown stain? Oval keyhole plate on front. Lid is hinged to open. One wooden storage tray is present inside chest.
