Saber & Scabbard. U. S. Cavalry saber, similar to a Model 1860 pattern. Brass, 3-branched handguard. Wooden grip wrapped with leather and twisted brass wire. Brass cap pommel. Long, curved blade with fuller. Standard steel scabbard with two carry rings attached. (Note: The top of the counterguard and the top branch of handguard appear to have both been intentionally bent forward, in order to make the saber easier to grasp and to possibly parry saber blows)
