Content Description: 

Vase. A vase 12 inches high of Japanese manufacture. This is a vase made of sheet brass covered in porcelain (called cloisonné) in an elaborate design of colored birds, flowers, and butterflies on a deep rich blue ground. The designs are outlined with inlaid copper wire. Quadruple fired; made for lower member of royal family, ca. 1860-1880. (per J. Yde May 1977).
