Frock coat from British officer's uniform; madder red wool broadcloth with sulphur yellow broadcloth facings, collar, and cuffs. Collars, facings, sleeves, cuffs, and skirt are embellished with silver thread and sequin embroidery and 37 (of 40 original) silver repousse buttons impressed with Royal Crown and Regiment 44. Buttons have bone backs and are filled with a hard white paste and attached to the coat with catgut. Coat is lined in finely-ribbed cotton and hemp material. See "relations."
