Content Description: 

Uniform Frock Coat, Military. Confederate Officer's Frock Coat with rank insignia of Major. Blue gray wool, double breasted, 1 3/8" stand up collar with single embroidered star on each side. Blue sleeve cuffs; two rows of metallic braid on lower sleeve. Buttons are yellow colored metal with eagle and shield on lined field surrounded by many small stars. Upper body lined with black cotton (or cotton wool combination). Off white cotton damask lining in sleeves and tail pockets. Blue wool collar lining. Note: Buttons are Federal design staff buttons, commonly used on Confederate officers' coats.
