Content Description: 

A Seminole Indian cornmeal sifting basket made of woven rush. The top edge is rounded at the corners so it is almost circular. The lower corners are squared; the bottom is rounded so it does not sit on the corners. The center section is made of narrower rush (split rush?) in an open weave for sifting. The top edge is made of a rush stem and bound in rush with a 2nd row of split rush binding.
