Deed: 1817 Land Transfer White paper deed cirtificate. Upper left corner of front has illustration of seated Columbia handing deed of land to former soldier and his family. Lower left corner has seal of the United States General Land Office. Information standard to form in script print, spaces for additional information provided. Handscribed name of Pres. James Monroe at top center of document. The President has signed his name in lower right corner, Josiah Meigs has signed his name at bottom center of document. Back of deed is written legal document signifying that James Lamb, Jr. is selling land granted by certificate to Jesse Robinson. Lower left corner of back has sticker attached with map publishing information.
