Federal-style mahogany dining chair in the Massachusetts manner, having square back with arched crest rail above four bannisters with palm frond capitals on a punched ground and central carved rosette. Chair stands on square tapering molded legs. Upholstered in leather with brass tacks. Underside of back rail bears brass plaque reading "In memory of Mrs. J. Morgan Smith (Kate Duncan Smith) this set of ten chairs is given by the Alabama Society of the Colonial Dames of America."
