Inlaid mahogany dining table by Daniel Clay of Deerfield, MA. Table is in three sections: the central drop-leaf section (a) with two D-shaped ends (b and c), each with drop leaf. The apron has satinwood panels and line inlay, and the table stands on square tapering cuffed legs. Brass plaque hidden by swinging leg of c reads "Presented to Dumbarton House by the Mass Society of the National Colonial Dames of America May 4, 1932 Made in Deerfield Mass circa 1785 for Esq. John Williams Grandson of Rev. John Williams "The Redeemed Captive.""
