Flag, Confederate. 8th Florida Infantry Regiment, St. Andrew's Cross pattern, square format. Red field (wool bunting). Blue cross (wool bunting) Orange/brown border (wool bunting). 13 white 5-pointed stars (polished cotton). Thin white edging (polished cotton). White heading (cotton canvas?) with 3? hand-sewn eyelets. Rectangular wide white strip (cotton muslin?) with unit designation: 8 FLA (faded) in lower quadrant. Flag pattern is Army of Northern Virginia, second bunting issue. Capture number:72 marked on heading. Capture information written on fabric patch in lower left corner.
