Content Description: 

Flag, Confederate. Battle flag of 8th Florida Infantry Regiment. St. Andrews Cross pattern, square format. Red field (wool bunting). Blue Cross (wool bunting). White edging (cotton twill tape). Twelve (looks like there was previously a 13th star in center). White stars (cotton or wool?) inset from corners. White heading (cotton) with hand-sewn eyelet hole at bottom and center (fabric missing at top). White border on three sides (wool bunting). Unit designation appliquéd in white letters (cotton muslin) on upper center field (remains of : 8th FLA). . . (See Worksheet for additional details). Flag pattern is Army of Northern Virginia, third bunting issue. Extensive old (pre 1905) rodent damage along top of flag. Note: Wooden flag staff with damaged top is marked with capture number 410-this is the original staff for Flag 87.1.4
