French and Indian War Period powder horn. Square section ring near spout end. Oak butt plug set in flush with sides and has series of four concentric circles scribed into it. Vestiges of gilt paint on butt plug and spout probably not original. Butt plug secured with small wooden pins. Carved decoration inscription reads, "Samuel Wright/ At Lak Goarg [Lake George] 1755/ Elabth [Elizabeth]."
