Content Description: 

Sword. French Infantry Officer's Sword. Very similar to the U. S. Model 1850 Foot Officer's Sword. Brass pierced floral pattern on handguard. Horn handgrip with deep spiral grooves. Blade is single edged and slightly curved. Blade has narrow fuller at top and wide fuller in center, both of which continue to within an inch of the point. Appearance of a 4-5" false edge. All iron scabbard is slightly curved with two suspension rings and a relatively small drag. Letter washer around base of blade to cushion scabbard throat.
