Sepia toned copy print of Henry Hartley in a studio portrait. Hartley is seated in a wicker chair with his right leg crossed over his left. He is holding his flat cap with U.S.S. Buffalo" tally in his right hand. His apprentice mark is visible below the neck opening of his overshirt. A Quarter Master 2/c rating badge is visible on his left sleeve indicating he is a member of the Port watch.
