Flag, Confederate. Presentation battle flag of Kilcrease Light Artillery, rectangular format. Different design on each side. Obverse: Oak and Laurel Branch Wreath of green, yellow, blue, red and brown embroidered on beige (silk taffeta) field--(silk originally white or ivory.?) Embroidered inscriptions: motto above (Dieu Et Mon Droit {translation: God and My Right}), unit within (Kilcrease Light Artillery) and below wreath the date (1863). Letters are worked in yellow satin stitch with a heavier brown couched outline thread. . . (See Worksheet for further details). Reverse side has rectangular Confederate battle flag. Heavy metallic fringe around three sides of flag. Note: Photo of the flag show the reverse pattern showing through the losses to the light colored silk background fabric.
