Fragment of lace edging, likely cotton with linen gimp (cord outlining motifs), probably a "Bucks-" type lace and possibly made at a school in Connecticut or New Jersey or in Ipswich, MA. Lace has scalloped edge with a row of spread-winged American eagles whose bodies may resemble the Washington coat of arms or the Great Seal of the United States, and a mesh "resau" with floral buds. Piece is mounted on cardboard covered in brown fabric.
