4 pg. letter -handwritten in ink from "Camp on Mill Creek, Tenn." Dec. 15, 1862. Written to Brother. Describes health of "old 36" only two from Regt. in hospital but some left that were sent to Louisville. In camp six miles South of Nashville -having a skirmish most every day....have to get up at 4 AM and stand under arms until 8. Rebs are concentrating at Murfesburough. His co's 1st Lt. is adjutant for Gen. Sheridan. Going to be some more promotions in his company soon. Describes meals. Rumor that their camp is going to move tomorrow but he doubts it because there is not enough rations in Nashville. Unsigned.
