Musket. Flintlock, this model is often called a "New England Militia Musket." .72 caliber smooth bore, with 39 inch barrel. Polished maple stock and forearm extending almost the entire length of the barrel. "W. Ketland & Company" lock; brass trigger-guard; straight checked grip; steel ramrod under the barrel. Hammer engraved with a floral design. The fine quality of the construction indicates that it may have possibly been an officer's model.
