Content Description: 

Cabinet. Or Commode. Walnut with reddish veined marble top. Generally matches Chest of Drawers ( Vernacular style related to American Eastlake. Reddish veined marble top and walnut, burl walnut, and fir. Two short half-width drawers with brass bail handles, next to a door. Full-width drawer above. Drawers have 3 hand cut dovetails in front and two in back, interior partitions, and finished interior shelves. Ghosts and holes in the back corners of the marble indicate a shelf unit or mirror, that is no longer present. Burl veneer on front of all drawers and door. Back and sides made of frame and panel construction. Shaped and incised mounts and bail handle on each narrow drawer, two on full length drawer. Carcass set on single wheel casters with very short legs with egg and dart molding around bottom, incised decoration and bead and reeded molding on sides and top.
