This print reflects the mixed feelings of Marylanders during the Civil War. The first blood was shed when a Baltimore mob attacked the 6th Massachusetts regiment on April 19, 1861, killing 4 soldiers and 12 civilians. Marylanders remained divided, as many supported either side during the Civil War.
