Cork and 18 gauge needle wrapped in paper and sealed with yellow tape signifying that the object has been sterilized due to the appearance of black diagonal lines. Cork/&/18G./needle is written in pencil on one side. The family says that these items belonged to Robert Gibbon, the donor's husband's great great grandfather, a physician during the Civil War. Most of the items are actually much more modern, appearing to be mid 20th century.
