Content Description: 

Quilt. Hand made by donor. Top has an appliquéd 58 1/2" high image of Osceola, the famous Seminole Indian leader, in full regalia, holding a musket. Based on portrait by George Catlin. Pale blue background with 1 1/4" border of red, blue and yellow in a typical Seminole pattern. Hand quilted with the sun and its rays and palm leaves and other foliage. Back is one piece of cotton printed in a brightly colored quilt pattern. Right side has been pieced with a 1 1/4" blue strip. Red sleeve for hanging the quilt sewn to top. Polyester batting. Osceola's cape has red and blue 5" fringes.
