Official plaque of the USS Charlotte titled Silent Stinger. Object is a wood plaque (walnut) with brass name plate and bronze (?) circular emblem near the top front center. The front surface of the plaque has been sanded smooth and coated with a clear satin finish. The brass name plate reads Dick Primm Commissioning Committee & Honorary Plank Owner. Bronze (?) emblem shows a relief image of the Charlotte city skyline with hornet above the city and a submarine at the bottom. Text on the emblem reads USS Charlotte SSN766 Silent Stinger. Back of plaque has 4 labels, first at top is black with gold lettering that reads Tribute Awards, second label Made in USA, third reads memorandum and is dated May 17, 1995. Last label is a distribution list for all that were to receive a plaque. Near the top center is a cut hole in the shape of a keyhole, used for hanging the item.
