"The Gold Years", Sexauer, 40/50 Reproduction of an intaglio by Donald Sexauer. Set #40 of "Mecklenburg: A Bicentennial Folio". Entitled "The Gold Years", shows the Charlotte branch of the U.S. Mint, stores on a downtown street, gold miners with their tools, and a train, possibly the arrival of the first wood-burning passenger train from Columbia, sc in 1852.
