Content Description: 

Four photographs taken near and around Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in August of 1863. Some of the earliest photos taken after the battle. From an album of an officer in the Tenth New York Cavalry. Four Albumen images that show what the area looked like both east and west from the center of town. Unpublished images. Docket on the back ID's the maker as being Tyson's Plates. Image in top left is taken form west of town, showing northern part of Gettysburg. Top right image: taken from the west of town, showing southern part of Gettysburg. Image in bottom left shows: Pennsylvania, College, N. West. Image in the bottom right corner is the barn attached to General Meade's Headquarters.
