Etching titled "Robinson Crusoe's Summer Retreat" by an unknown English artist, illustrating "Robinson Crusoe" by Daniel Defoe. Etching depicts Crusoe hanging grapes to dry on a thatched-roof house, with a dog and guns in the foreground and a goat and bird nearby. Underneath the image is printed "Printed for and sold by Carington Bowles," "Published as the Act directs 18 Jan. 1783," and " No. 69 in St. Paul's Churchyard, London." The caption reads "In this Place also I had my Grapes growing which I principally depended on for my Winter Store of Raisins, and which I never failed to preserve very carefully."
