Saber. With Scabbard. A type used by Russian Cavalry during WW1. Possibly a fancy officer's version. Has wide curved blade with 3 blood grooves on both sides. Hilt is all metal without a full guard; has bird head pommel and is highly decorated with engraved, embossed and etched silver and black designs. Scabbard is of wood covered with black leather, has metal tip, trim and rings, metal portions are highly decorated. Presented to Col. William C. Miller, U. S. Army, by Grand Duke of Russia in Siberia during WW 1.
