Gilt-bronze and steel ceremonial sword (a) and scabbard (b), Philadelphia. Sword has guard with Indian princess, spread-wing eagle, 13 stars and other heraldic and military symbols and an eagle-head hilt chased with anthemion and palm frond decoration within beaded borders. Green cloth braid on hilt handle. Scabbard is chased with floral and foliate decoration, edged with beaded swag motif.
