Gilt-bronze ceremonial sword (a) and steel scabbard with brass strapwork (b), probably Spanish. Sword has Toledo steel blade marked "Ano d 1837"," gilt C-scroll handle with lion masks, ram's head mask, warrior masks and martial symbols and foliate decoration, and guard with seated classical figures holding an oval medallion enclosing spread-winged eagle.
