Content Description:
A Seminole sifting basket made of hand woven rush and used for sifting cornmeal. It has rounded corners at the top edge, square corners on the bottom. The center section is made of narrower rush splits in an open weave. The rigid edge of rush stems is wound in a double row, 1 wide and 1 narrow of rush. The basket has been mended and reinforced on 2 of the inner sides with 2 large pieces of cardboard and bound on with white string.
