Content Description: 

A collection of documents pertaining to 7 brothers from Isle of Wight County who each enlisted in the Confederate service, each were wounded but survived to become leaders in their communities. One document is a pamphlet providing the historical information. Another document is the agenda for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources meeting on 12/2/1998 at which a Highway Marker commemorating the brothers was approved. Also a Resolution of the Town Council of Windsor, Virginia on 5/12/1998 approving "the support and establishment of a permanent roadside monument to memorialize the lives of the seven Robert Brothers." Also a Proclamation by the City of Suffolk, Virginia declaring January 20, 1998 as "Roberts Brothers Day".
