Content Description: 

Large brown shot pouch made from two pieces of leather, seams flat sewn with running stitches. Form is an elongated oval and near top there are two inch-wide leather loops that once accommodated a carrying cord. Spout is carved from a piece of pine and the leather neck of the pouch is securely whipped with cord around the major length of the spout. The stopper is carved from pine and retains a short length of chain which, when unbroken, prevented the stopper from being lost. At the base of the spout there is a small wire loop to which the chain was attached. Retains some shot.
