Marked "STOCKING & CO./WORCESTER" and "CAST STEEL WARRANTED" on the false ribs between the barrel bores; on left side of hammer is "Patent secured 1849"; stocks are of walnut; typical coarse scroll of engraving on each side of the cast frame. Interesting example of a product of local Massachusetts industry in the early days of the machine manufacture of firearms.
