A sketch of the Commandant's house at the Charlestown Navy Yard (now known as the Boston Navy Yard), which was in operation from 1801 to 1974. The caption reads, "Commodore's house and gardens, at the Navy Yard, Charlestown, Mass." The Navy Yard now forms a part of the Boston National Historical Park. The USS Constitution is currently anchored there.
