Content Description: 

American silver teakettle (a), stand (b), and oil heating element by Wood and Hughes, New York, NY. Kettle and stand chased with floral and c-scroll decoration, having pierced shell and foliate supports. Kettle has hinged lid and is inscribed "Caroline Pitts Brown," the obverse inscribed "1901." Removable heating element fits within stand and has two wicks under hinged cover. See "relations."
