Content Description: 

Gown, Evening, Woman's. Belonged to Thelma Johns, wife of Acting Governor Charley Johns (1953-54). Ball gown of ice-blue nylon net over taffeta. Has fitted sleeveless bodice with spaghetti shoulder straps and a sweetheart neckline. Bodice is covered with a curving design of iridescent sequins. A matching, very full net stole is attached to the bodice at front ends of shoulder straps. Long side metal zipper on left side. Skirt is very full with double layers of net gathered at waist over a full taffeta underskirt. Sequin decorated, full peplum with scalloped edge attached to the waist. Peplum is 18 1/4" long in front and 7" long in back. Has left side opening at waist with 3 snaps for closure.
