Drawing. A Pen and Ink Drawing illustrating a folktale from Uncle Monday and Other Florida Tales entitled, Daddy Mentions Escape-Farewell Polk County Jail. Shows a crafty man finally outwitting the jail guards. He (Daddy) was frequently arrested and jailed for vagrancy. This time he cooperates with Capt. Smith working hard chopping down trees and carrying pine trees on his shoulder. Thinking he was told to take a big tree out of camp, he succeeds in walking with pine log to Tampa. Scene shows Daddy leaving jail with three smiling guards watching.
