Drawing. A Pen and Ink Drawing illustrating a folktale from Uncle Monday and Other Florida Tales entitled, The Witch-Holler, She'll Disappear. Shows five African American children in a room near an open door showing a night time scene of palm trees, a thatched house with a star filled, moonlit sky. Three children are cowering on two mattresses on the floor. Two other children are crouched in the open doorway, all are staring in horror at a menacing African American ghost. A cat by the lit lantern is also watching. It is an illustration of an African American legend from the Bahamas about a witch.
