Content Description: 

Flag, Union. A silk United States flag of the type carried by Union Army regiments as their national color during the Civil War. Has a "squarish" format with 13 red and white stripes and a dark blue canton bearing 34 metallic gold painted stars in rows of 7,7,6,7,7 stars per row. Fringe is of a twisted yellow-gold silk. Sleeve of flag is of the same colors and material as the rest of the flag, simply doubled over and sewn.
