Indenture of Stephen LeBas 9/1/1759 Know all men by theses presents that I Stephen Lebas of the Parish of St Giles' in the feilds in the County of Middlesex Brewer --------- am held and fairly bound to in Mr. Joseph Burton of Basing ____the County of Hants Gent. in the Penalty of one thousand pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain, to be paid to the said Joseph Burton. or his retain attorney Executors Administrators or his assigns, for which payment to be well and faithfully made I bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with my Seal Dated this Ninth day of December in the thirty first year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain _____ and Ireland King defender of the ffaith and so forth, and in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty seven The Condition of this Obligation is such That if the above bounden Stephen Lebas his Heirs Executors or Administrators shall and d o well and fuly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Joseph Burton his Excutors Admimistrators or Heirs the full sum of Five Thousand pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain on the Ninthe day of June next: with lawful Interest for the Same from the Day of the Date hereof, Then this Obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force.
