Content Description: 

Wedding dress - Two picece embroidered satin wedding dress with lace and bead decoration. Satin is embroidered in gold with a flower/leaf pattern. Bodice has built in stays constructed with a center seam and two seams on either side. Square neckline is decorated with a white satin collar. Four bows run along the outer edges of the elbow length sleeves. Skirt has a ruffled white satin hem and an overskirt of beaded white tulle. Skirt gathers into a bustle at the back which is decorated with rosettes and three large ruffles. The gown was worn by Lelia Bernard Meredith, the bride of Richard I. Manning, in 1881.
